Press Release: Groundbreaking for New Construction at Coshocton County JVSD
Today marks a significant milestone in the growth and expansion of the Coshocton County JVSD as we break ground on a new 11,000 square-foot addition to our facility, which will house two cutting-edge programs: Utility Line Worker and Applied Machining and Manufacturing.
This addition, located on the east side of our building, is not only a testament to the evolution of our career center but also a step toward providing even greater opportunities for current and future students. These state-of-the-art programs are designed to prepare our students for high-demand, high-skill careers in industries that are essential to our economy.
The Utility Line Worker program will equip students with the skills and training needed to thrive in the energy sector, ensuring that they can meet the growing needs of our communities. The Applied Machining and Manufacturing program will focus on advanced techniques and technologies, preparing students to enter the ever-evolving world of modern manufacturing.
This expansion is about more than just adding physical space—it’s about creating new pathways for success for the young people in our community. The opportunities these programs offer will open doors to rewarding careers, financial stability, and personal growth for generations to come. By investing in our students now, we are laying the foundation for a stronger, more skilled workforce that will benefit both our local community and the broader economy.
We are deeply grateful to our board members, students, team members, Mayor Mark Mills, the County Commissioner’s Office, the Coshocton Port Authority, SHP (our architectural firm), Beaver Constructors, and all subcontractors for their collaboration and support in bringing this vision to life. Lastly, I want to thank our community for always supporting our Career Center. Your support and commitment to our Career Center and its students is second to none.
This project reflects our continued commitment to inspiring and empowering students to reach their full potential, and we are excited to see the positive impact it will have on our facility, students, and community. Thank you all for joining us on this exciting journey.
Superintendent,
Matt Colvin
