Networking IT & Computer Systems (NICS)

The Network Information and Computer Systems (NICS) classroom currently uses Cisco Network Academy and CodeHS to provide curriculum for learning the current Ohio Department of Education standards for Hardware, Software, Networking, and Coding.  The goal of the program is designed for high school juniors and seniors to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level work and/or to prepare for higher education in the field of Information Technology. Information Technology has transformed the way people work, live, and conduct business, education, and healthcare, and it will continue to need a support presence in the world.

  • Install and maintain Microsoft, Linux, and Apple Operating Systems.
  • Install and maintain applications and programs within an operating system.
  • Create and manage virtual machines and cloud technology.
  • Design, install, operate, and troubleshoot computer networks.
  • Install and maintain network and computer security.
  • Learn coding methods  to design and support business applications.
